The Inter-American Development Bank (IDB or Bank) encouraged underrepresented businesses owned and/or managed by women, afro descendants/indigenous persons, LGBTQ+ persons, and persons with disabilities to respond to procurement opportunities.
The Bank considers underrepresented businesses as those that are:
1) Woman-Owned Business
- A business which is at least 51% owned, and/or managed, and controlled by one or more women.
2) Afro-descendants/Indigenous-Owned Business
- A business which is at least 51% owned, and/or managed, and controlled by one or more Afro-descendants/Indigenous persons.
3) Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, and Queer (LGBTQ+)-Owned Business
- A business which is at least 51% owned, and/or managed, and controlled by a LGBTQ+ person or persons.
4) Disabled-Owned Business
- A business which is at least 51% owned, and/or managed, and controlled by a Disabled person or persons.
