The IDB leads the Focus on Latin America and the Caribbean at the most important global meeting of the water and sanitation sector, with a call to mitigate the effects of change climate

The World Water Week, sponsored by the Stockholm International Water Institute, the most important global meeting of the year for the water and sanitation sector, began with a call to take concrete and decisive actions to mitigate the effects of climate change and its consequences on the availability of water resources for the present and the future.

The IDB coordinates the Focus on the Americas during World Water Week, a role that has played for the past five years. On this occasion the discussions, which will take place virtually; will analyze in depth the effects that climate change has already had on our water resources, but above all, the initiatives that various actors have launched to mitigate it. 

The Focus on the Americas sessions will take place from Tuesday, August 25 to Thursday, August 27, and will be available at no cost to the public through the Zoom platform. The full agenda is available at this link.

All sessions will be held in Spanish and will have simultaneous interpretation into English, Portuguese and French. The themes and times of the sessions are as follows:
