On the destruction caused by tropical storm Agatha in Central America, the President of the IDB, Luis Alberto Moreno issued the following statement:
"The Inter-American Development Bank deeply regrets the loss of life and the destruction caused by tropical storm Agatha in Guatemala, Honduras and El Salvador. We stand by these countries to provide all the assistance at our disposal. Our representatives in those countries will be in touch with local authorities to evaluate the situation and assess the needs and the opportunities to provide technical and financial assistance."
