Guadalajara to host 5th edition of Latin America and the Caribbean’s main services outsourcing and offshoring event
GUADALAJARA, Mexico – Around 600 representatives of global services companies from more than 40 countries are expected to attend Outsource2LAC, the main outsourcing and offshoring event for Latin America and the Caribbean from Nov. 11-13.
The forum will bring together Latin American companies as well as potential clients from around the world and will provide a unique opportunity for the region to continue to play a significant role in the competitive global services industry, whose total value is estimated to be $560 billion. The region’s exports of services have grown at an annual clip of 11 percent over the past five years, far outpacing the average worldwide growth of 6 percent.
Service industry providers from Latin America and the Caribbean, the United States, Europe and Asia will have a chance to hold matchmaking meetings with representatives from potential clients and attend informative seminars on industry trends conducted by top-level international experts. Additionally, this year will include, for the first time, a “boot camp” where attendees from 30 companies will be trained in technology, innovation, digital marketing and access to financing by experts from Google, Red Innova, and the Inter-American Development Bank, among others.
The IDB, through its social media platform for businesses called ConnectAmericas.com, is organizing the forum together with Proméxico, the Mexican exports and investment promotion agency, and the Government of the State of Jalisco. Other participants will include government and trade-promotion agencies representatives from 20 Latin American and Caribbean countries as well as outsourcing industry associations from Mexico, Brazil, Russia, India, China and the European Union.
In the four previous Outsource2LAC events, nearly $50 million worth of transactions were generated by more than 3,500 business meetings held during the forums.
