International organizations, embassies, and U.S. government agencies and other groups with amateur teams have been invited to participate in the “Best Foot Forward” charity soccer tournament to be held on Saturday, June 15, at the JFK hockey field of the Washington, D.C., Mall.
In case of rain, the event will be held June 22.
The hockey field is located on the south side of the Reflecting Pool, between the Washington and Lincoln monuments.
To participate in the competition, which begins at 9 a.m. and continues until 5 p.m., each team must contribute a $250 entry fee that will constitute a charitable donation and entitle the team to play in a minimum of three 20-minute games.
The top four teams of the competition will select which charitable organizations of the District of Columbia will receive the donations.
The event is being organized jointly by the Inter-American Development Bank and the World Bank – which will also be among the organizations fielding teams.
