The Inter-American Development Bank will sponsor a seminar on strategies to prevent and eliminate child labor in Latin America and the Caribbean on November 9 in Lima, Peru.
Representatives from governments, international organizations and civil society from the region will participate in the event. During the workshop the discussions will be based on four IDB-sponsored pilot projects from Argentina, Bolivia, Brazil and El Salvador.
Experts will analyze not only the moral and social challenges of early employment, but also the loss of human capital and future economic potential. They will also identify the best strategies to prevent and progressively eliminate child labor.
The seminar will take place at the Hotel Miraflores Park Plaza in Lima.
