Inter-American Development Bank President Enrique V. Iglesias will offer a press conference at noon on Friday, Sept. 16, to give a farewell after leading the Bank as its chief executive officer for more than 17 years.
The event, to be followed by a luncheon, will be held in the Cecilio Morales room on the 12th floor of Bank headquarters in Washington, D.C., at 1300 New York Ave. N.W.
Iglesias will answer questions concerning his administration at the IDB and on development issues affecting Latin America and the Caribbean.
On May 31 Iglesias resigned from his position as IDB president effective Oct. 1, when he will be succeeded by Colombian diplomat Luis Alberto Moreno. Iglesias is now preparing to assume the post of secretary general of the 22-nation Iberoamerican Community of Nations
