The President of the Inter-American Development Bank, Luis Alberto Moreno, will travel to Paraguay to take part in a conference on corporate social responsibility and then to Argentina, where he will give a speech on prospects for Latin American and Caribbean. Moreno will be in Asuncion on May 26 and in Buenos Aires on the 27th.
In Paraguay, Moreno will attend the closing session of the VIII Inter-American Conference on Corporate Social Responsibility, organized by the IDB group’s Multilateral Investment Fund (MIF).
CSRAmericas 2011 is expecting more than 900 participants from the Americas and other regions to share strategies and practices that improve competitiveness of entrepreneurs and companies. The event is to include plenary sessions and simultaneous panels organized around three thematic blocs: solutions for companies to take on social challenges; realistic solutions for entrepreneurs as they deal with challenges related to their business areas; and experiences that show how the private sector is dealing with climate change.
In Buenos Aires, Moreno will deliver a major speech on Latin American and Caribbean perspectives over the next decade. He will be accompanied by the Vice President of Uruguay, Danilo Astori.
Moreno will also meet with Argentine government authorities and visit a new Scientific and Technological Center known as GIOL – a knowledge hub that is to house Argentina’s Ministry of Science, Technology and Productive Innovation (MINCYT). The center is one of the key projects in the IDB program to support technological innovation in Argentina.
