The IDB is looking for the Most Innovative Startups in Latin America and the Caribbean

The Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) has launched a competition to select startups from Latin America and the Caribbean that will participate in “Demand Solutions: Ideas for Improving Lives in Cities” that will take place on September 29th in Washington, D.C.

As part of the two-day conference, selected startups will have access to disruptive content and a series of events, workshops, inspirational lectures and networking opportunities. Additionally, over the course of two days, the startups will work with the Fly Garage model, an innovation incubator developed by Mondelez Internacional to be part of a social, collaborative and creative experiment for startups.

Applicants interested in participating in Demand Solutions must be between the ages of 18 and 35 and be founders or co-founders of startups that have been operational for at least six months up to three years. The startups should be fostering innovations in cities in areas such as: Alternative Energy, Transportation and Logistics, Housing, Urban Farming and Gastronomy, Education, Big Data, Creative Industries, Art and Design, and Citizen Security.

Applications will be accepted between June 1st and July 1st 2015 and must be submitted through the NEXSO web site www.iadb.org/ds/startup/apply Applicants must submit a video introducing themselves and explaining why they think their startup should be picked in two minutes or less.

Winners will be notified by e-mail by the end of July.
