The IDB Launches its Environmental and Social Policy Modernization Process

The Board of Executive Directors of the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) today launched the process to modernize its environmental and social policies.

Through this modernization process, the IDB will enhance environmental and social sustainability outcomes in its operations. As a result of this process, the IDB intends to develop an integrated Environmental and Social Policy Framework aligned with international standards and best practices.

The IDB invites public participation to make the process as transparent, effective and inclusive as possible. The IDB is interested in receiving feedback from stakeholders and interested parties throughout the process. To reach the widest possible audience, the IDB will carry out web-based consultations and in-person meetings.

Additional information can be found on a dedicated webpage: www.iadb.org/mpas. All stakeholders and interested parties can register on the webpage to receive updates, provide feedback, and obtain future details on consultation meetings.
