IDB Invest, the private sector institution of the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) Group, signed an equity investment of up to 450 million Mexican pesos with the Indigo 2PD fund. The fund will provide financing to medium-sized companies in Mexico that have proven business models and high growth potential.
Many medium-sized companies have limited access to financing, even if they have a solid business model and good growth prospects. The objective of this operation is to support the expansion of the financing sources available for these companies, thus closing the financing gap. The investment also seeks to reinforce the growth of companies and increase job creation.
The capital contributed by IDB Invest through this transaction will be directed to companies from different sectors, especially those that operate in areas not currently served by commercial banks and that require personalized financial solutions.
As part of this investment, IDB Invest will provide technical assistance to encourage the use of energy efficiency technologies in medium-sized companies served by the fund. Additionally, the project will have assistance in the implementation of gender and corporate governance practices.
