Inter-American Development Bank President Enrique V. Iglesias and Ping-Cheung Loh, secretary general of the International Cooperation and Development Fund of Taipei, signed a cofinancing agreement for a $4,600,000 concessional loan provided by the ICDF to support a program for the modernization of the National Congress and the Office of the Comptroller General in the Dominican Republic.
The IDB, which last year approved a $22 million loan to support this project, will be the administrator of the financing agreement between the ICDF and the Dominican Republic.
The program will strengthen the democratic process by improving the efficiency, transparency, and evaluation of the two key government institutions.
