IDB to host meeting on investment climate in Latin America and the Caribbean in Washington, D.C.

The Inter-American Development Bank will hold a meeting on December 4 at its headquarters in Washington, D.C., that will gather public and private sector leaders from Latin America and the Caribbean to identify ways to create and sustain an environment favorable to investments in the region.

Participants will exchange ideas on initiatives and regulatory frameworks and analyze the role of governments as well as companies to generate a favorable business climate.

Representatives from the public sector, private companies executives and experts from multilateral organizations will present their experiences.

Sessions will include subjects such as the contribution of the investment climate to sustainable economic growth and poverty reduction, its impact on domestic and foreign investments, development and implementation of investment climate reforms over the past few years, the main obstacles and the process of political acceptance and the stability and sustainability of an environment that favors business.

The meeting will offer the opportunity to public sector leaders and corporate executives to discuss in depth strategies to improve and maintain an adequate investment climate.
