IDB holds meeting with civil society groups

The Inter-American Development Bank will hold a meeting with civil society organizations on Thursday, March 26, as is customary at the IDB’s Annual Assemblies.

The meeting will follow up on the agreements reached in the 8th regional meeting between the IDB and civil society groups, held in Montevideo, in October 2008. For tomorrow’s meeting, civil society organizations put together an agenda that included areas of concern, including the participation by these groups in Bank activities, mutual accountability, and access to information.

The meeting seeks to strengthen ties with civil society organizations through dialogue and provides an opportunity to address concerns. The IDB will be represented by its president, Luis Alberto Moreno, and its vicepresident for countries, Roberto Vellutini, among other members of IDB management. Attendance is by invitation only.
