The Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) Group has kicked off another Superheroes of Development contest to showcase clients and institutions with outstanding solutions to challenges that arise as they implement Bank projects. The IDB Group consists of the Inter-American Development Bank, IDB Invest, and IDB Lab.
Superheroes of Development recognizes projects that use systematic learning, exchanges, and past lessons to adapt to shifting environments and generate timely and actionable knowledge for other implementing partners and institutions.
“Our operations have a crucial impact, so it is essential to recognize the commitment of implementing agencies and spotlight projects that are making a difference and overcoming all sorts of obstacles. We are thrilled to announce this new Superheroes of Development contest,” stated IDB President Mauricio Claver-Carone.
Superheroes of Development is part of BIDAcademy, the IDB Group’s learning and knowledge platform. The aim of BIDAcademy is to share practical and actionable knowledge that, in this case, enhances projects’ operational excellence.
The contest commends IDB client and partner efforts in two categories:
Category 1: IDB projects in the process of implementation that have received at least the initial disbursement, or IDB Invest, or IDB Lab clients that have received financing.
Category 2: Projects that concluded after January 2016.
Contestants can complete the online form on the Superheroes of Development website, which also states the rules of the contest. The IDB Group will share the winners’ stories throughout the region as a way of spreading knowledge to other projects currently being designed or implemented.
