IDB Annual Meeting Agenda Highlights – March 20th

In the morning, the IDB will unveil an in-depth study on productivity in Latin America and the Caribbean and its impact on the region’s growth.  Soon after the announcement, the IDB will coordinate a seminar that will discuss the challenges and opportunities to address development issues through a global agreement to tackle climate change. In the afternoon, there will be a seminar to discuss the economic recovery after the global financial crisis.

Seminar on climate change: The route to Mexico: Challenges and opportunities for a global agreement

This seminar will discuss how a global agreement to tackle climate change can also help address development challenges and reduce poverty. Yvo de Boer, Executive Secretary of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change; and Rajendra Kumar Pachauri; chair of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC); are among the panelists of this seminar.
