In recent years, global competitiveness has been determined by nontraditional factors, such as logistics and transportation expenses. The IDB has supported investments in the private sector for ports and logistic parks, to enhance their productivity and contribute to sector development and innovation. The purpose of this panel is to evaluate the various private-sector initiatives financed by the Bank in the region. It will explore successful approaches and results obtained from improvements to transportation and logistics infrastructure.
