IDB announces new lending rates for the first half of 2001

The Inter-American Development Bank today announced changes in its lending rates on the convertible-currency portion of loans from ordinary capital for the first semester of the year 2001.

For outstanding balances of currency-pool adjustable rate loans approved after Jan. 1, 1990, the annual lending rate is 6.35 percent for the first semester of 2001 compared with 6.36 percent in the second semester of 2000.

The lending rate applicable to outstanding balances of adjustable rate loans in U.S. dollars from the single currency facility (SCF) is 7.10 percent in the first semester of 2001 compared with 7.03 percent for the second semester of 2000.

The lending rate for SCF loans in Euros applicable during the first semester of 2001 is 6.30 percent compared with 6.13 percent in the second semester of 2000.

The lending rate for SCF loans in Japanese yen for the first semester of 2001 is 2.30 percent, compared with 2.34 percent in the second semester of 2000.

The new lending rate for SCF loans in Swiss francs is 4.72 percent, compared with 4.47 percent in the second semester of 2000.

During the first semester of 2001, the full credit fee of 0.75 percent will be charged on the undisbursed balance of signed loans, and the full inspection fee of 1 percent will also be charged. The full credit fee and the full inspection fee were also charged during the second semester of 2000.
