Hundreds of agri-food companies from Latin America and the Caribbean will meet with buyers from around the world at LACFlavors, which will be held October 8-10 in the Mexican city of Mérida.
Organized by the Inter-American Development Bank through the platform ConnectAmericas.com – the first business-oriented social network in the Americas – the 6th edition of LAC Flavors is supported by ProMéxico, the Government of the State of Yucatán, Mexico’s Secretariat of Agriculture, Livestock, Rural Development, Fisheries and Food (SAGARPA), through the Agency for Agri-food Marketing and Development (ASERCA) and Trust Funds for Rural Development (FIRA).
Representatives from an estimated 400 companies will attend the three-day event, during which they will learn about the latest trends in the industry through workshops given by noted experts on such issues as business internationalization, international logistics, packaging, and digital marketing tools for small- and medium-size companies. They will also attend specially organized business meetings with potential clients, partners and service-providers. In the previous five editions of LACFlavors, deals worth more than $35 million were reached.
In addition to food exporters, the event will be attended by buyers from major international retail chains and logistics and service companies. Representatives of trade promotion agencies from the countries of the region will also be on hand.
Attendance at LAC Flavors 2014 is free, and those interested can register by filling out the form available at ConnectAmericas.com.
