How can Latin America and the Caribbean tap their renewable energy potential and foster sustainable development?

International leaders will meet in Bogotá on June 18 for the first regional Global Green Growth Forum in Latin America and the Caribbean

At the invitation of Colombia’s President Juan Manuel Santos, Prime Minister of Denmark Helle Thorning-Schmidt, and Inter-American Development Bank President Luis Alberto Moreno top leaders from government, business, finance, civil society and, international organizations will convene at the first regional dialogue in Latin America of the Global Green Growth Forum (3GF LAC), to be held in Bogotá, Colombia, on June 18. 

The forum “Rethinking Our Energy Future: Climate Change and Renewable Energy in Latin America and the Caribbean”, seeks to highlight the substantial renewable energy endowment available in the region and identify collaboration opportunities and concrete actions to transform Latin America’s energy market.

The Global Green Growth Forum is a leading annual event for decision makers that come together to intensify large-scale public-private action to accelerate the transition to a green economy future by advancing the large scale deployment of renewable energy, exploring technology innovation and improving the regulatory framework.

Other forum participants include CEOs of the largest electricity utilities, heads of regulatory agencies, renewable energy institutions, and the private sector.
