Around 2,000 businesspeople of the global services sector from more than 50 countries will be taking part from July 13 to 22 in Outsource2LAC Virtual Week 2020, the main digital services outsourcing event in Latin America and the Caribbean.
The forum aims to drive the growth of companies that provide global digital services, or knowledge-based services, in response to the economic slowdown caused by the COVID-19 crisis. In its eighth edition, this is the first time that the Outsource2LAC forum is held online.
The event will present global corporations, SMEs, entrepreneurs, and governments from the region the latest technology trends around knowledge-based services. Attendees will have access to experts, suppliers, investors, and global digital services startups from around the world and can discover new business opportunities through B2B and B2G business rounds.
The eight-day forum includes panel discussions, individual presentations, and technical workshops covering more than 20 issues around the current digital age and its future.
Attendees will find out more about digital business opportunities in four main areas: business process outsourcing (BPO), information technology outsourcing (ITO), knowledge process outsourcing (KPO), and emerging technologies. Some key sectors within these areas include e-commerce, online education, telemedicine, the creative industries, AgTech, Fintech, and cybersecurity.
In the long-term, the COVID-19 crisis is expected to transform global digital services into a permanent, comprehensive component of global trade.
Outsource2LAC is organized by the IDB’s Integration and Trade Sector and the ConnectAmericas business platform. It has been held in seven Latin American cities since 2011, enabling over 11,000 one-on-one meetings to take place and generating approximately $270 million in projected business deals. The event was last held in Buenos Aires in 2019 (link in Spanish).
