Application for the 2017 WeXchange Pitch Competition is Now Open

The Pitch Competition is organized by MIF/IDB and NXTP Labs. The deadline is September 30 and applications are open to high-growth women entrepreneurs in Latin America and the Caribbean.

The Multilateral Investment Fund (MIF), a member of the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) Group, and NXTP Labs, the investment fund with the most active acceleration program in the region, announce the fifth edition of WeXchange, the leading forum for connecting and strengthening women entrepreneurs in Latin America and the Caribbean.

WeXchange will be held on December 4 and 5 in Santiago, Chile. During the event, participants will have opportunities for networking, mentoring, and access to potential investors. The forum will be one of the satellite events at the Gender Summit.

Now in its fifth year, the theme of this year’s forum is “Women Entrepreneurs Transforming the World through Technology.” Women entrepreneurs who seek to solve problems using their knowledge of science, technology, engineering, arts and mathematics (STEAM) are invited to participate.

This edition will also feature the Pitch Competition, which will award a prize to the most innovative and dynamic STEAM-focused entrepreneur in the region. Its aim is to identify and recognize businesses with a strong technological and innovation component, which have at least one woman in the founding team and is targeted to Latin America and the Caribbean. Six finalists will be selected, who will make their pitch to a panel of independent experts during the WeXchange forum in Santiago, Chile. The prize for the winner and her business partner will be participation in a one-week immersion program in Silicon Valley.

Women entrepreneurs can submit their applications using this link until September 30.

The winner of the 2016 competition was Komal Dadlani, a Chilean and co-founder of Lab4U, a startup that transforms mobile devices into tools to improve the way in which science is taught, enabling students and professors from around the world to conduct experiments with a laboratory in their pocket.
