The purpose of the Inter-American Development Bank’s Gobernarte Award is to identify, reward, support, and promote public management initiatives led by subnational governments—such as states, provinces, departments, municipalities, or other equivalent entities—in Latin America and the Caribbean.

This edition recognizes governments that are innovating to improve citizens' quality of life in the following categories:

• Artificial Intelligence to enhance the management of subnational government services.
• Digital Identification to provide secure and accessible public services at the subnational level.
