Alfredo Lingoist Jr. has served as the Alternate Executive Director for Brazil and Suriname since June 2026.
Mr. Lingoist has over 20 years of work experience in monetary policy, macroeconomic research, and international finance. Prior to his appointment, he served as Advisor to the Governor at the Central Bank of Brazil (BCB), Senior Advisor to the Deputy Governor for Economic Policy at the BCB and Advisor to the Executive Director for Brazil at the International Monetary Fund (IMF).
Mr. Lingoist built a background in quantitative economic research and policy analysis, and served as a Professor of Economics. Throughout his career, he has participated in high-level global financial forums, including the IMF, the Bank for International Settlements (BIS), and the World Economic Forum (WEF).
Mr. Lingoist holds an undergraduate degree from the Universidade de São Paulo (USP) in Brazil and he is equipped with technical expertise in programming and econometric modeling for policy formulation.
