Sally Yearwood joined the Inter-American Development Bank in December 2018. Prior to joining the IDB, she was the Executive Director of Caribbean Central American Action, a policy advocacy and economic development organization. Over the years, her areas of focus have included energy security, maritime transportation, disaster management, Haiti, trade policy, and financial services, among many others. She has provided expert testimony before the U.S. Congress on issues related to U.S. policy in the Caribbean, including trade and financial services.
Ms. Yearwood’s career spans more than 30 years working with the countries of the Caribbean and Central America. She spent 13 years in Haiti where her experience includes serving as the Trade and Investment Advisor for the U.S. Agency for International Development, managing projects for the Caribbean Export Development Agency, and serving as the Country Representative for the U.S. Department of Commerce.
In March 2016, she was honored with an “International Woman of the Year” Award from the World Trade Center Miami, for her work in trade and logistics, and was a proud recipient of the "Spirit of Barbados” Award in 2017. She has a BA in International Relations and an MA in International Development.
