Mr. Takashi Hanajiri’s professional career covers both domestic and international public sector.
He joined the Ministry of Finance (MOF) of Japan in 1991, and since then, he worked for several organizations (including the Cabinet Secretariat Office in two opportunities) inside the Japanese Government and international organizations as well, and has accumulated rich experience in wide range of international affairs such as development assistance both in bilateral and multilateral manners, foreign exchange policies, debt management, investor communications as bond issuers (MOF, Japan and Inter-American Development Bank (IDB)), and regional financial cooperation in the areas of bond markets and currency swap arrangements. He also served as Senior Advisor to the CFO, Capital Markets and Financial Affairs at the IDB in 2009 for four years.
Prior to re-joining the IDB, he was Head of the Asia External Representation Office at the African Development Bank, and Director for Country Assistance Planning Division II, in charge of the official development assistance towards the LAC region, in the International Cooperation Bureau at the Ministry for Foreign Affairs.
Mr. Hanajiri holds a Bachelor of Laws from University of Tokyo, and a Master of Economics from the International and Development Economics (IDE) program at Yale University.
