Female Heads of Households Training Prog
The main objective of this program is to develop innovative and sustainable initiatives to expand the productivity of low-income women heads of household in Colombia's urban sectors. The project will facilitate access by and integration of women heads of household into the labor market, by providing them with training that covers subjects related to both work behavior and their situation as women heads of households. For this purpose, an effort will be made to improve, consolidate, and expand the training program conducted by the FES aimed at this segment of the labor force.To implement this program, a sustainable financing system will be created through the establishment of a Fondo Permanente con Contrapartida [Endowment Fund]. The Fund is a mechanism created by the institution to ensure the sustainability of the social programs in which it participates. Several strategies have been put in place to guarantee that the working models of the project are replicated to promote the project's sustainability and expansion once technical cooperation is concluded. Institutional support will be lent to the executing agencies of the program in:(I) standardizing work experiences with the target group, refining a gender approach, and consolidating training models in the areas of basic occupational training andproductive development, and in the development of strategies for disseminating the program methodology to other NGOs not yet participating in the network and for mobilizing additional funds for its future expansion; (ii) the development of a system for monitoring program achievements and impact to facilitate its duplication; (iii) strengthening the institutional capacity of the NGOs executing the program, including their capacity to raise additional fundsto finance the program in the long term.
