Institutional Capacity for Multi-sectoral Planning and Promotion of Productivity
Objective. The objective of the Technical Cooperation (TC) is to support the Government of Panama in the design and the implementation of policies that identify value-added activities that could be developed and improved by utilizing the logistics infrastructure and the expanded Canal. This effort will ultimately position the country as a more competitive economy in the region and the world.

Specific Objective. To strengthen the planning capacity and to support in the design and implementation of multi-sectoral government policies, specifically in areas where there are productivity losses, such as the Colon Free Trade Zone. To achieve this, we will develop: a national plan for productive development, a growth diagnostic of Panama, and a strategic plan to reintegrate the Colon Free Trade Zone and other special economic zones with the productive chains of the rest of the economy. These reports will be used as inputs for capacity building workshops for government officials and the private sector.
