Critical minerals for the energy transition: integrated development in mining regions of Peru
The objective of this project is to support the Ministry of Energy and Mines and the Regional Government of Cajamarca and other subnational authorities to reduce development gaps in mining regions, within the framework of increasing the production of critical minerals for the energy transition. The specific objective of the project is to accelerate the implementation of prioritized productive infrastructure and public service projects in the Cajamarca region that have a positive impact on climate goals and on closing gender and inclusion gaps. The project will provide technical inputs and train key local officials and stakeholders to improve territorial institutional capacities in a sustainable manner, focusing on the implementation of projects with positive impact and results in the short and medium term.
