Support to the Geothermal Exploration Program and Improved Power Transmission in the Framework of Nicaragua's Investment Plan (PINIC)
The main objective of this TC is to support the execution of the "Geothermal Exploration and Transmission Improvement Program under the Nicaragua Investment Plan (PINIC)" – operation NI-L1094 – as well as the fulfillment of the social and environmental requirements that were established for the Program elegibility. The specific objectives of the TC are: (i) provide expert support to the Ministry of Energy and Mines (MEM) in the technical and administrative management of Component 1 (C1) – Geothermal Exploration; and (ii) provide technical support to the Environmental Management Units (UGAs) of MEM, the Nicaraguan Electricity Company (ENEL) and teh National Electricity Transmission Company (ENATREL), with regard to the environmental and social management that is related to the development and implementation of geothermal and transmission projects, respectively, particularly, providing support for the fulfillment of the environmental and social requirements of the Environmental and Social Action Plan (PAAS) as well as other documents from the loan contract associated to the Program.
