The objective of the TC is develop an analytical tool and assessment methodology for studying the impact of trade liberalization on the use of land in tropical lowlands that will allow: (i) identification of individual household characteristics that lead to diverse land use decisions within a region; and (ii) identification of policy and investment options for rain forest conservation that would be applicable under free trade in Mexico and in Central America.
