Performance Index of the Educational Institutions in Ecuador (InDI)
The objective of this technical cooperation is to design, implement and validate actions to improve the quality of education based on a new educational index that feeds the measuring system of learning of Ecuador. Since 2012 the country has been making a major effort to build a rigorous system of measuring educational quality, under the leadership of the National Institute for Educational Assessment (INEVAL). INEVAL has developed standardized tests, which have been applied to more than 2 million students and teachers in order to provide relevant for the definition of educational policies in the country information. However, there is still a space of opportunities for this information to be translated into effective responses to improve the quality of education at various levels. In particular, the return of these measurements to educational institutions and the decentralized structures of the Ministry, so that they can define and implement improvement strategies, which has been limited so far. The TC tries to reduce this gap.
