Inter-American Development Bank Quarterly Business Review: First Quarter 2022
The 2022 first quarter edition of the Quarterly Business Review (QBR) provides management with a status of the Bank's performance. The QBR reports on outputs, lending program priorities and organizational indicators on a quarterly basis to allow management to monitor progress in achieving corporate results. This periodic monitoring supports evidence-based decision making and allows for timely identification of deviations from targets and enables effective implementation of measures to address them. The Quarterly Business Review (QBR) provides an overview of the IDB's performance on sovereign-guaranteed outputs and lending program priorities. The QBR identifies trend deviations from IDB portfolio targets to support Bank management efforts to identify and implement corrective measures. This edition compiles data for the first quarter of 2022.

Smart Ports Manual: Strategy and Roadmap
The Smart Port Manual is a tool designed to help port authorities and terminal operators monitor and evaluate the process of transforming ports into smart ports. The manuals content is based on international best practice for implementing smart ports. It describes different smart port initiatives and includes a list of quantitative and qualitative indicators that can be measured to track and score the progress made. This manual gives a comprehensive overview of the technological and legal ecosystem needed in order to create smart ports.

Independent Country Program Review Suriname 2016-2020
This Independent Country Program Review (ICPR) analyzes the IDB Group's country strategy (CS) and country program with Suriname during the 2016-2020 period. ICPRs assess the relevance of the Bank's CS and provide aggregate information on the program alignment and execution. If the available information allows it, ICPRs also report on progress toward achieving the objectives that the IDB Group established by the CS. This review by the Office of Evaluation and Oversight (OVE) is intended to provide the Boards of Executive Directors of the IDB and IDB Invest with useful information to analyze the country strategies submitted for their consideration.

Electrokit: Power Utility Toolkit-The Overview: Best Practices in Electric Power Distribution Companies in the Latin America and Caribbean Region
The Electrokit is an initiative created by the IDB to strengthen transformation and continuous improvement of electric utilities in the LAC region. It follows international standards that characterize and evaluate utilities based on indicators and best practices. The Electrokit is organized in 16 activities that are common to most electricity utilities. The aim of the toolkit is to provide power utilities, policy and decision-makers access to best practices, current trends, and expertise to: (i) identify challenges, develop a strategy and action plan for addressing them; and (ii) support utilities to be more sustainable, efficient, improve customer experience and accelerate innovation to stay ahead of the rapidly sector transformation. The Overview presents the main objectives of the toolkit, the structure of its areas and activities, and a guide on how companies could design an action plan.

Factsheet Resilience Solutions for the Road Sector in the Philippines
This Factsheet is a part of the Private Markets for Climate Resilience (PMCR) project to evaluate systematically the potential market for climate resilience solutions in the private sector. Focusing on agriculture and transportation, current practices and opportunities highlight products, services and finance in six emerging markets Colombia, the Philippines, South Africa, Nicaragua, Kenya, and Vietnam. Private Markets for Climate Resilience (PMCR) is the first initiative by a development institution to better understand climate resilience solutions provided by the private sector. The Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) and the Nordic Development Fund (NDF) have funded this assessment that focuses on transport and agriculture, and examines current best practices and opportunities related to climate resilience, by identifying leaders that are shaping the national markets, highlighting products, services, tools and processes.

NDC Invest: Supporting Transformational Climate Policy and Finance
El Grupo Intergubernamental de Expertos sobre el Cambio Climático (IPCC por sus siglas en inglés) indica que para cumplir con el objetivo del Acuerdo de París de limitar el aumento de la temperatura global con respecto a los niveles preindustriales a entre 1,5 C y 2 C se requiere alcanzar cero emisiones netas de dióxido de carbono (CO2), así como profundas reducciones en las emisiones de otros gases de efecto invernadero (GEI) hacia mediados de siglo (IPCC 2018). Al mismo tiempo, los países deben construir resiliencia climática para hacer frente a los impactos inevitables. NDC Invest se creó como la ventanilla única del Grupo BID que proporciona apoyo técnico y financiero a los países de América Latina y el Caribe en sus esfuerzos por alcanzar los objetivos climáticos del Acuerdo de París, buscando la transición a cero emisiones netas de carbono y vías de desarrollo resilientes y sostenibles que mejoren la calidad de vida y la prosperidad en América Latina y el Caribe. Al aprender y comprender estos desafíos y al poner a prueba soluciones, hemos desarrollado una caja de herramientas de apoyo. Este documento describe los tres productos de NDC Invest a través de los cuales apoyamos a los gobiernos para encarar estos desafíos y ampliar acciones para afrontar el cambio climático y el desarrollo sostenible: i) el diseño de Estrategias a Largo Plazo (LTS por sus siglas en inglés) para cero emisiones netas y resiliencia climática; ii) diseño de Contribuciones Determinadas a Nivel Nacional (NDCs) ambiciosas, alineadas con las LTS; y iii) diseño de planes de inversión y estrategias financieras. Nuestros tres productos no son una receta fija, sino más bien una caja de herramientas para ofrecer soluciones flexibles y pertinentes adaptadas a las necesidades y el contexto de los países, y a las diferentes etapas de diseño e implementación de sus objetivos climáticos.
