Pantanal I Sustainable Development Prog.
THE PROGRAM'S OBJECTIVE IS TO PROTECT THE PANTANAL. THE PROGRAM TO BE DEVELOPED WILL INCLUDE ACTIONS TO RECUPERATE DEGREDATED AREAS, MANAGE NATURAL RESOURCES, UPGRADE EXISTING ROADS (INCLUDING ENVIRONMENTAL IMPROVEMENTS), WATER TREATMENT, IMPROVEMENTS TO URBAN AND ENVIRONMENT. THE PROGRAM WILL BE DIVIDED INTO TWO STAGES. THERE WILL BE A SECOND STAGE THAT WILL HAVE A TOTAL COST OF US$200 MILLION WITH PROPOSED IDB FUNDING OF US$100 MILLION.
