The Bahamas Program for Resilient, Inclusive and Sustainable Urban Mobility
The general objective of this CCLIP is to promote sustainable, low-carbon, climate-resilient, inclusive urban, electromobility for residents and visitors in The Bahamas. The specific objectives are to reduce local and global emissions from the passenger transport sector, through investments in transport infrastructure to support low-carbon, safe, inclusive, and accessible mobility (electric vehicles for public transit, school buses, electric bikes and scooters), infrastructure for bus stops, dedicated lanes for buses in peak hours, digital apps to optimize routing, streamline payments, and promote security and safety for passengers, universally accessible, safe, and interconnected infrastructure for walking, cycling, and shared micro mobility modes (e-bikes, scooters), and increased resilience of the infrastructure used by transport. This program will also support tourism.
