According to the latest IDB Group report, Costa Rica, El Salvador, Guatemala, Nicaragua, and the Dominican Republic have already recovered pre-pandemic economic activity levels. During 2021 the IDB Group approved $3.38 billion in financing to support the productive sector, inclusive recovery from the COVID-19 crisis, employment, value chains, and digitalization.

"BID ao Cubo" is a training and immersion program in the Brazilian market for Latin American and Caribbean startups IDB Lab, the innovation laboratory of the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB), and Cubo Itaú, the Brazilian hub for the promotion of technological entrepreneurship, will select 20 projects from the region to be part of "BID ao Cubo", an initiative that seeks to integrate the startup ecosystem of the continent through an immersion program in the Brazilian market.

In 17 of the 23 Latin American and Caribbean countries analyzed, the number of women who report owning a mobile phone is lower compared to men. The greater the gender gap with respect to mobile phone ownership, the lower women’s participation in the workforce.
