President Moreno to announce new IDB financial package to confront food crisis in Latin America and the Caribbean

The President of the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB), Luis Alberto Moreno, and finance ministers from seven Central American countries will meet Tuesday, May 27, in Washington, D.C., to discuss the social and economic impact of rising food prices. Ministers from Costa Rica, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, Nicaragua, Panama and Dominican Republic will attend the meeting.

IDB, Ricky Martin Foundation, Ayuda and local partners launch campaign against human trafficking in Washington, D.C .

The Inter-American Development Bank (IDB), Ricky Martin Foundation, the non-governmental organization Ayuda and the DC Mayor’s Office on Latino Affairs have partnered to launch Call and Live in Washington DC, a campaign that promotes an anti-trafficking hotline for prevention and victim protection. Other local partners of the initiative include Telemundo, Univisión, Washington Hispanic and Radio Viva 900.  

IDB gives a $300,000 hand up to women living with HIV/AIDS in Honduras

The Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) recently announced the approval of $300,000 in grant funds to provide financial support and training to low-income women entrepreneurs living with HIV/AIDS in Bahía de Tela, Honduras.
