The Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) has expanded its longstanding partnership with the Government of Japan through a partnership amendment signed with the Japanese Ministry of Finance (MOF) and a new Memorandum of Collaboration (MOC) with the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA). The signings reflect reinvigorated commitment from Japan and the IDB Group to cooperate in pursuit of social and economic recovery in Latin America and the Caribbean (LAC).

The Inter-American Development Bank today launched Build the Americas, a mobile application designed to increase transparency and competition in the bidding process for infrastructure projects it finances in Latin America and the Caribbean. The app provides access to information on upcoming IDB-financed procurements in sectors such as energy, transportation, and water and sanitation, while facilitating the connection between infrastructure developers and local suppliers of goods and services.

The Movement includes a crowdsourcing contest and an event. Pivot Search is the crowdsourcing platform to receive new development ideas.
