Partner institutions include artistic and cultural institutions and organizations of the Civil Society The Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) has selected 50 partner institutions to receive financing and technical assistance for cultural development projects in 26 countries. These projects will receive grants under the Cultural Development Program, designed to support artistic and creative endeavors.

Throughout March, the Japan-IDB Scholarship Program will be distributing application forms for its Northern Hemisphere Program, targeting those students planning to attend universities located in the North America, Central America, Europe and the Caribbean in September or October. Interested candidates may obtain applications from IDB headquarters in Washington, D.C., or from country offices, or can download from the program's website. For the Northern Hemisphere Program, the deadline for applications is mid May and selection is early July.

The Inter-American Development Bank will participate in the 2007 Buenos Aires International Book Fair in Argentina and will co-host with the Center for Social Innovation of the University of San Andres and the Social Enterprise Knowledge Network (SEKN) a book presentation and roundtable event on April 20 to launch a book on social entrepreneurship.

The IDB has approved a $600,000 grant for a project to link over 700 universities and academic research centers in Latin America, stimulating cooperation among countries in the region in the fields of education, science and cultural activity.
