Loans of up to $125 million to expand access to credit for green projects The IDB approved a Green Line Partnership with Banco Pine S.A. in Brazil to expand access to financing for environmentally sustainable projects, particularly biofuels and renewable energy projects. The IDB will provide an unsecured A/B loan of approximately $125 million to Banco Pine for working capital and long-term loans in these sectors, and to finance capital expenditures.

The 2012 IDEAS Energy Innovation Contest for the Caribbean was launched today. Awards of up to US$200,000 are offered for projects and enterprises which promote energy efficiency and access to renewable energy in the Caribbean region. The Inter-American Development Bank signed a long-term loan financing for the São Paulo Metro Line 4 for a total of US$368.7 million on October 7, pursuant to the award of a 30-year Public-Private-Partnership concession with the State of São Paulo. The financing consists of a direct A loan divided into two phases and a syndicated B loan consisting of resources from financial institutions that subscribe participation agreements with the IDB.
