This will help increase Panama’s access to life-saving vaccines.

A $45 million investment project seeks to ensure minimum levels of quality of life for vulnerable people in the face of the crisis caused by COVID-19 and hurricanes Eta and Iota. The Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) approved a project for Honduras to support minimum income levels and help the quality of life of vulnerable people affected by the COVID-19 pandemic and by the effects of hurricanes Eta and Iota last November.

The Inter-American Development Bank has approved a US$15 million reimbursable technical cooperation loan to help consolidate private participation arrangements in Colombia’s infrastructure, improve the context of financing and foster conditions conducive to economic recovery following the COVID-19 pandemic. The operation seeks to consolidate the government’s capacity to promote private participation arrangements in economic and social sectors given the new scenario of budgetary and financing constraints for the expansion of Colombia’s infrastructure.

The Deep Dive explored new opportunities for expanded collaboration and celebrated the partnerships’ achievements to date. The Inter-American Development Bank today launched Build the Americas, a mobile application designed to increase transparency and competition in the bidding process for infrastructure projects it finances in Latin America and the Caribbean. The app provides access to information on upcoming IDB-financed procurements in sectors such as energy, transportation, and water and sanitation, while facilitating the connection between infrastructure developers and local suppliers of goods and services.
