IDB Group will meet with the Civil Society representatives from Latin America and the Caribbean in Bolivia

Finance ministers from 34 countries of the Americas and the Caribbean are expected to attend a high-level meeting on October 11 with executives of the Inter-American Development (IDB), the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and the World Bank (WB) to discuss policy options for financial inclusion and regional trade integration. Argentine Finance Minister Luis Andrés Caputo will chair the Ninth Meeting of Finance Ministers of the Americas and the Caribbean, which will be held at the IDB’s headquarters.

IDB launches 2017 Call for Proposals to promote Regional Public Goods in Latin America and the Caribbean

The deadline for accepting proposals is April 26th, 2017 The Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) launched the 2017 Call for Proposals of the Initiative for the Promotion of Regional Public Goods in Latin America and the Caribbean (LAC), which supports projects aimed at resolving shared challenges and seizing opportunities for development through regional cooperation among at least three countries. Since 2004, the RPG Initiative has financed 140 projects, investing a total of more than US$103 million.

Five states and provinces from Latin America to receive IDB prize for innovative government practices

The Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) will on Jan. 15 award the GobernArte Prize for the most innovative government programs to five states and provinces from Latin America, in the smart government and the citizen security categories. The winners will receive the prize from IDB President Luis Alberto Moreno at a special event in the Bank’s headquarters in Washington, DC. The winners are:

Inter-American Development Bank President Luis Alberto Moreno made the following announcement to IDB staff today I would like to inform you that Mr. Daniel Zelikow has tendered his resignation from his position as Executive Vice President of the Bank and informed the Board of Executive Directors in that regard today. I have asked Julie T. Katzman to serve as interim Executive Vice President while we work to fill the position on a permanent basis. Ms. Katzman will continue to fulfill her duties as General Manager of the Multilateral Investment Fund (MIF).

Germany, IDB sign agreement to provide opportunities to young German associate professionals

Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) President Luis Alberto Moreno and the Deputy Chief of Mission at the German Embassy in Washington, D.C., Jens Hanefeld, today signed an agreement for the Government of the Federal Republic of Germany to provide qualified young German associate professional officers to participate in IDB’s Fellowship and Associate Program. The framework agreement also assures funding for these young professionals by the German government for a maximum duration of two years.

President Moreno to announce new IDB financial package to confront food crisis in Latin America and the Caribbean

The President of the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB), Luis Alberto Moreno, and finance ministers from seven Central American countries will meet Tuesday, May 27, in Washington, D.C., to discuss the social and economic impact of rising food prices. Ministers from Costa Rica, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, Nicaragua, Panama and Dominican Republic will attend the meeting.

The Inter-American Development Bank (IDB), Ricky Martin Foundation, the non-governmental organization Ayuda and the DC Mayor’s Office on Latino Affairs have partnered to launch Call and Live in Washington DC, a campaign that promotes an anti-trafficking hotline for prevention and victim protection. Other local partners of the initiative include Telemundo, Univisión, Washington Hispanic and Radio Viva 900.
