Around 2,000 businesspeople of the global services sector from more than 50 countries will be taking part from July 13 to 22 in Outsource2LAC Virtual Week 2020, the main digital services outsourcing event in Latin America and the Caribbean. The forum aims to drive the growth of companies that provide global digital services, or knowledge-based services, in response to the economic slowdown caused by the COVID-19 crisis. In its eighth edition, this is the first time that the Outsource2LAC forum is held online.

The Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) ranked 5th amongst 47 donor agencies in the 2020 Aid Transparency Index, up from 7th place in 2018. The Index produced by Publish What You Fund is the only independent aid transparency ranking among the world’s major aid donors.

The Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) has approved a $500 million loan from a redirection of resources in its portfolio with Argentina to support the sustainability and recovery of micro, small and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs) that were hit by the economic crisis triggered by the COVID-19 pandemic.

In its third edition, the call for proposals will be virtual and will be open from May 26 to June 29, 2020. The yearly Superheroes of Development award will once again recognize the executing agencies, borrowers or clients of projects financed by the IDB Group (which includes the Inter-American Development Bank, IDB Invest and IDB Lab) that have successfully addressed different challenges in their implementation.

The Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) and the World Bank have signed a Framework Agreement for mutual reliance in public procurement matters related to co-financed projects in Latin America and the Caribbean (LAC). This Agreement is consistent with international good practices, is based on both institutions’ common project procurement principles and brings forth a range of opportunities for the LAC Region.
