The drop in the value of the region's exports is estimated to be around 30 percent year-on-year in April The value of exports from Latin America contracted by 3.2 percent in the first quarter of 2020 compared to the same period in 2019, according to a new report by the Inter-American Development Bank that analyzes the trade performance of 15 countries in the region.

Tax revenues in Latin America and the Caribbean (LAC) increased to 23.1% of GDP on average in 2018, according to the new edition of Revenue Statistics in Latin America in the Caribbean published today. However, these gains are now under threat as a result of the region’s deteriorating fiscal outlook, which has been exacerbated by the COVID-19 pandemic and the global economic crisis.

The Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) launched today its 2019 Sustainability Report with information on its integrated approach to sustainability, the footprint of greenhouse gases (GHG) of its loan portfolio and the achievements of its Corporate Sustainability Program. For the first time, the report also includes information on the systematic assessment of disaster risk and climate change from its projects.
