The "InvestmentMap" initiative continues to expand in Latin America and the Caribbean

The InvestmentMap Initiative of the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) continues to make progress to promote good governance in the management of public investment through greater transparency and citizen participation. Since its inception in 2017, ten countries in Latin America and the Caribbean have joined the initiative and six of them already have platforms available to the public.

Italy to contribute to IDB Transparency Fund

Italy is joining Norway, Canada and MasterCard as a partner and contributor to the Inter-American Development Bank’s Transparency Fund , a vital tool to help countries strengthen their anti-corruption and pro-transparency reforms. The government of Italy has donated €1 million.

Finance ministers from 34 countries of the Americas and the Caribbean are expected to attend a high-level meeting on October 11 with executives of the Inter-American Development (IDB), the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and the World Bank (WB) to discuss policy options for financial inclusion and regional trade integration. Argentine Finance Minister Luis Andrés Caputo will chair the Ninth Meeting of Finance Ministers of the Americas and the Caribbean, which will be held at the IDB’s headquarters.

IDB supports energy efficiency green bonds

Financing package of up to $450 million to underwrite energy efficiency projects will also receive funding from Green Climate Fund The Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) has approved financing to establish a regional Energy Efficiency Green Bond Facility. The program was selected to receive up to $217 million in additional funding as one of eight projects worldwide in the first round of allocations announced by the Green Climate Fund (GCF) on November 6.
