Program to eliminate malaria in Mesoamerica identifies 183 active outbreaks

The Regional Initiative to Eliminate Malaria has presented today its first results to the heads of state and government of the region. The goal is for Central America countries, the Dominican Republic, Colombia and Mexico to be declared free of Malaria by 2022. The Regional Initiative to Eliminate Malaria (IREM in Spanish) presented today to the heads of state and government of Mesoamerica the first results of the joint efforts being waged since early 2019 to eliminate malaria from these countries by 2022.

Spain makes contribution to IDB’s migration initiative

Argentina seeks to increase youth employment and reduce gender gap through sports

The Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) has joined forces with the International Olympic Committee (IOC) to launch an initiative that will benefit more than 4,000 young people through sports in Argentina. The project, which will be financed by US$1.5 million commitments from the IDB’s Multilateral Investment Fund (MIF) and the IOC, was formally announced in Buenos Aires, Argentina as IDB President Luis Alberto Moreno and IOC President Thomas Bach signed a Letter of Intent.  

Ecuador will improve comprehensive care for children under age five with IDB support
