MONTEVIDEO, Uruguay – Technology is key for the survival of any company around the world today. Computers and the Internet have increased access to information and allowed companies to reach new customers. Sophisticated new tools help process business activities more efficiently, boosting productivity. But for most micro, small and medium-sized companies (SMEs) in developing regions, access to technology has been limited.  This has been undermining their performance and preventing new businesses from being created.

MIF donates $2 million for a pilot project in Latin America and the Caribbean

The Inter-American Development Bank (IDB)’s Multilateral Investment Fund (MIF) announced the approval of $2 million in donations to finance seven pilot projects in information and communication technology (ICT). These projects will in turn benefit small and medium sized enterprises in Latin America and the Caribbean.
