In its third edition, the call for proposals will be virtual and will be open from May 26 to June 29, 2020. The yearly Superheroes of Development award will once again recognize the executing agencies, borrowers or clients of projects financed by the IDB Group (which includes the Inter-American Development Bank, IDB Invest and IDB Lab) that have successfully addressed different challenges in their implementation.

The Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) and the World Bank have signed a Framework Agreement for mutual reliance in public procurement matters related to co-financed projects in Latin America and the Caribbean (LAC). This Agreement is consistent with international good practices, is based on both institutions’ common project procurement principles and brings forth a range of opportunities for the LAC Region.

The Americas Business Dialogue (ABD), a mechanism for advancing a public-private dialogue on public policies, today released a series of recommendations that seek to support the governments of the hemisphere in their health and economic response to the emergency of COVID-19. The 17 measures proposed by ABD can be found in the document Policy Recommendations on Addressing the Coronavirus Disease (COVID-19) Pandemic and Mitigating Its Impacts.

The Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) launched today its 2019 Sustainability Report with information on its integrated approach to sustainability, the footprint of greenhouse gases (GHG) of its loan portfolio and the achievements of its Corporate Sustainability Program. For the first time, the report also includes information on the systematic assessment of disaster risk and climate change from its projects.

Bank has taken comprehensive measures to limit the spread of virus, including mandatory telework at Headquarters and all Country Offices beginning March 16 The IDB Group announced today that two employees at its Country Office in Brazil have tested positive for the coronavirus. The IDB Group, in line with guidance from the Brazilian Ministry of Health and international health institutions, is taking steps to protect the wellbeing of the employees and anyone else who may have recently come into contact with them.
