Ecuador Completes World’s Largest Debt-for-Nature Conversion with IDB and DFC Support

The Inter-American Development Bank (“IDB” or “IADB”), rated Aaa/AAA (Moody’s/S&P), priced a new GBP 400 million 7-year global Sustainable Development benchmark. The transaction pays an annual coupon of 4.000% and matures on December 17, 2029. It was priced with a spread of 47bps over the UKT 0 ⅞ 10/22/29 reference Gilt, which equates to a semi-annual yield of 4.102%.

MSMEs in El Salvador to Access Business Loans with IDB Support

The Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) has approved a $100 million loan to help micro, small, and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs) in El Salvador thrive by expanding their access to medium- and long-term business loans. Specifically, the IDB funds will finance lines of credit from the Banco de Desarrollo de la República de El Salvador (BANDESAL) that are designed for intermediary financial institutions, which in turn can offer loans to the enterprises themselves.
