IDB Art Collection

The Inter-American Development Bank's art collection provides a unique opportunity to delve into the rich cultural diversity of Latin America and the Caribbean, while also exploring the dynamic intersections of art, design, culture, business, and technology.

With nearly 2,000 works of contemporary artists predominantly from the region, the collection aims to enhance public understanding of creativity's vital role in development. By showcasing the transformative power of creativity, the collection emphasizes how art can drive innovation, foster inclusion, and address critical challenges such as inequality and sustainability.

This initiative sets the IDB apart as one of the few multilateral organizations to embrace art collecting as a strategic tool for development, offering a powerful platform to celebrate cultural heritage and inspire progress throughout the Americas.

We are looking to form partnerships to bring our art collection to new venues so we can engage with a wider audiences interested in our region and on development. We can also loan specific works for temporary exhibitions and partner with cultural organizations interested in promoting cultural dialogue and artistic innovation.
